Caribbean calcite is a new discovery from Pakistan, named after its resemblance to the Caribbean beaches, not due to its location. Some lab tests have reported results showing that this new crystal is a mixture of calcite and aragonite, although there is some disputing this, some pieces are claimed to be Hemimorphite. There is also some disagreement over what color mixes/patterns can be called Caribbean calcite due to its new discovery and immediate popularity. There are many new patterns popping up and being sold with the same name.
